[journal] I must be getting old because I've started a budget for myself. After income tax, housing, utilities and health insurance I'm allowed to spend,
$750 on food (restaurants and groceries). I alloted the most money to this because I like to eat good food and maintaining (if not gaining) weight is a high priority.
$150 on entertainment (clubs, dvds, anything personal that makes me happy). This means I can probably go out three times a month. I'm not that much of a partier so this should be okay.
$75 on travel (trains and subways). This is separate from entertainment, so when I go to a club the 12 dollars on transportation can come out of this fund.
$25 on misc (things that are not regular like school supplies). This number is one I'm not sure if I've over or under estimated. I'll adjust it when February ends.
The first two months I will make no money and then once I'm off probation (I get $300/month less for two months) and stop paying back the company loan (I pay $300/month for five months) I will start seeing a trickle of money come in.
