It's the night before my first official cut at Sassoons. I had a hell of a time finding my models today. After I finished cutting Kal's hair (see below) at two, I met up with Susie and hit the Eaton Centre to model hunt. Most people seemed to think I was trying to sell them something, or scam them out of something or other. However, there were the odd few who were nice. By the end of two-three hours, I was so hungry and (as a result) grumpy since I hadn't eaten really (breakfast bar).
By that time I'd gotten my sentences down pat. "Hi, my name is Karen. I work at Vidal Sassoon a salon in Yorkville. I was wondering if you would be interested in being my model for a haircut, it's completely free." And after I get that all out, if they haven't said no, or looked at me like I had blood all over my face or something equally weird and started to walk away slowly, I'd usually tell them what kind of cut I would do on them. BUT FUCK it took forEVER! Wonder how the two will go tomorrow. Am a bit excited and anxious to see how they'll go.
This is Kal, she owns her own boutique in Yorkville. I actually walk by it every day to work. (Actually I run past it since I always seem to be late.) One day Susie and I walked into it and got into a good conversation with her. Needless to say, one thing lead to another.. and I told her I would cut her hair. It was really easy. She wanted the "messy Meg Ryan hair look." So, some layers here and there, a bit of scrunching and voila! I basically took out a lot of weight. Her hair had grown out quite a bit, and the last cut seemed all razored so her ends were all wispy and limp. Admittedly her fringe now looks a bit wiry, but I didn't have my blow dryer to make it perfect. (Should have brought mine, should have brought mine!) Her hair needs a dye job so badly, especially now that you can see through because of the layers I cut.
I should probably read my notes now...
