Starwars Kid [link] Some unlucky kid from Quebec (branded for the rest of his life as SWK or Starwars kid) videotaped himself at a school recording studio: himself, a golf retriever and plenty of darth-maul type moves. A couple of kids from the school found the tape and sent it around the world through kazaa and now it's on the nets and even on national television. You feel totally sorry for the kid, but you can't help but laugh too. It's humour you're embarrassed at yourself for liking. CLICKY

Studybound [journal] I watched a gripping documentary yesterday called Spellbound. It followed a group of 6 or 8 kids (I can't recall) on their goal of becoming the national spelling B champion. These kids, to me, weren't kids. They were studying machines. It got me feeling guilty, because I know the amount of time they put into studying for that test was the amount of time I put studying for the entirety of my university career.
With teacher's college looming about I already started to read my textbook and use active forms of studying rather than my old "just read the chapter once and write down and do nothing else." Read...skim...same thing before!

Back to school [journal] Now isn't that a horrible sentence? It's on par with back to jail to us normal folk. I mean the emotional stab u get from that sentence is intense. It scared you into buying tons of school supplies you don't need, tons of clothes you can't afford, tons of stress you can't handle.
